Account Director

Teak Media Communications, a boutique, values-led public relations firm that promotes socially responsible companies and nonprofit organizations through traditional, social and digital media, marketing, events and content, is in the market for an experienced, determined, enthusiastic and media savvy account director.

If you are passionate about PR, nonprofits, and CSR, write well, are driven by results, work best under deadline pressure, know how to manage colleagues and clients, and can oversee many accounts at once, we would like to hear from you.

The position is full-time, in our South Boston office, and reports directly to company president.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 7-10+ years of public relations experience, agency experience highly preferred
  • At least 3 years of direct oversight of client account teams
  • Strong project management, counseling, programming, people management and business development skills
  • Understanding of how to manage budgets for pieces of business or several projects within a large account
  • Experience managing people and teams, strengthening team dynamics and inspiring success
  • Provides proactive leadership to accounts, staff and clients.

Job Description

  • Directs development of range of materials developed by account team including client memos, press releases, speeches, articles, brochures, presentation and collateral materials.
  • Efficiently and effectively plans and manages large-scale events.
  • Develops and guides media relations strategy.
  • Leads growth of existing accounts and works with senior leaders to develop and direct new business program development and presentations.
  • Acts with a high degree of independence; holds responsibility for overall account relationships.
  • Responsible for maintaining and growing existing accounts.
  • Develops and delivers client presentations
  • Serves as day-to-day manager for junior employees
  • Invested in their growth and success at the company; approves expenses conducts regular 1-on-1 meetings; manages annual review process; monitors PTO; etc.
  • Mentors/manages junior team members on client account teams
  • Delivers constructive feedback in a respectful and effective way
  • Delegates respectfully and efficiently; clear about expectations, deadlines and roles/responsibilities of team members
  • Provides thoughtful and constructive feedback for team members’ annual reviews

Account Coordinator

Successful Account Coordinators will be detail-oriented self-starters with zero to one years of agency experience. Strong time management skills and an unflappable personality as well as a proven ability to write effective communications are all skills that are crucial to this role.

ACs are responsible for executing traditional and social media public relations campaigns on behalf of clients. The job entails: providing excellent client service, writing proactive pitches and other materials for the media, creating media lists and social media posts, proactively pitching and securing media, writing and proofreading materials, writing blogs, conducting research projects and reporting / account administrative tasks.

Requirements:

  • Provide excellent client-centered service
  • Follow the news and social media trends with clients in mind
  • Write and pitch to generate prolific and meaningful results
  • Create media lists
  • Conduct research projects
  • Contribute to social media and digital marketing campaigns
  • Be organized and detail oriented
Account Executive

Account Executives will be detail-oriented self-starters with at least one to two years of agency experience.  Strong time management skills and an unflappable personality as well as a proven ability to write effective communications are all skills that are crucial to this role.

AEs are responsible executing traditional and social media public relations campaigns on behalf of clients. The job entails: providing excellent client service, writing proactive pitches and other materials for the media, creating media lists and social media posts, proactively pitching and securing media, writing and proofreading materials, writing abstracts for speaking opportunities, creating compelling awards applications, executing product launches, writing blogs, conducting research projects and reporting / account administrative tasks. AEs participate in the new business process. Experience running social media campaigns is critical. Knowledge of corporate marketing and partnerships, as well as digital marketing, will be extremely beneficial.

Senior Account Executive

Senior Account Executives will be detail-oriented self-starters with four years of agency experience.  Strong time management skills and an unflappable personality as well as a proven ability to write effective communications are all skills that are crucial to this role.

SAEs are responsible for planning and executing traditional and social media and public relations campaigns on behalf of clients. The job entails: providing excellent client service, writing proactive pitches and other materials for the media, pursuing and securing media, writing and proofreading materials, writing abstracts for speaking opportunities, creating compelling awards applications, executing product launches, writing blogs, and reporting / account administrative tasks. SAEs participate in the new business process, including development and execution of corporate presentations and assisting in development of public relations plans. Experience running social media campaigns is critical. Knowledge of corporate marketing and partnerships, as well as digital marketing, will be extremely beneficial.
